Our newest skin-care product of the month is Obagi’s Retinol+PHA Refining night cream. This recently released breakthrough cream puts together an advanced formulation of Retinol called Entrapped Retinol with an ingredient called Polyhydroxy Acid (PHA) and eight other ingredients including Hyaluronate, Vitamin E, Squaline and Glycerin.  The Entrapped Retinol is designed to release slowly into the skin overnight maximizing the benefits of the Retinol while minimizing irritation. The PHA gives you gentle, yet effective exfoliation and the other ingredients ensure that your skin stays hydrated, avoiding the dryness that is often associated with Vitamin A derivatives (Retinol). The ingredients work together synergistically to refine skin tone and reduce the appearance of blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles.

This fabulous new cream has been clinically proven to give you a resurfaced, smoother and more even looking complexion in just 4 weeks!

Obagi is one of the most respected and well-known skin care companies in the world and there is a reason for that.  They have been around for over 35 years in over 80 countries across the globe.  All their products go through very rigorous product testing at every stage of their development from pre-clinical evaluation through customer preference and usage studies. The three stated tenets of their products’ standards include integrity, safety and efficacy. The integrity tenet ensures that customers can trust that every bottle will work exactly as is promised. The safety standard ensures that the ingredients are all thoroughly tested by dermatologists for safety, allergenicity and irritation and their efficacy studies are unmatched, using generous sample groups.

This attention to quality ingredients and tireless testing is one reason I like to work with Obagi, and there are many others.  One thing that is important to me when looking at a skin care company is that they do not do animal testing. In addition, I also look at whether they are concerned with the environment. Obagi is striving towards a low carbon footprint, with delivery packaging that is completely plastic free, using a plastic-free delivery box, tissue paper and plant-based Styrofoam. They also use many natural products in their skincare such as Vitamin C, E and A, Hibiscus Oil, Meadowfoam, Mango Butter and Aloe Vera.
